The Jetrion 4900m

As a major proponent of the increase in the use of digital output devices EFI has continued to develop its immensely versatile Jetrion platform so that it incorporates all the features required to provide label converters with the flexibility required to address the increasing requirement for shorter runs. This need for lower volumes is driven by the change in criteria when producing applications for this sector and, as well as including increased demand for customisation and VDP, it also takes into account the desire to reduce waste by printing on demand.

Jetrion represents a powerful end-to-end UV-curable solution that enables label producers to work direct from digital files, removing the need for the associated pre-press steps and components needed within a traditional analogue workflow. Driven by EFI’s powerful Fiery XF DFE (digital front end), it is now simple to generate a fully integrated production environment that streamlines production and saves time and labour with extremely fast and flexible processing.

The established Jetrion 4900M, 4900ML and 4900M-330 systems have all proved themselves as ideal systems for short and medium run printing or labels, packaging and direct mail applications, reducing costs by removing the need for plates and speeding up turnaround times. These modular platforms can incorporate white ink, laser die-cutting and finishing, with their scaleable construction enabling users to add extra capabilities as and when needed.

The latest addition to the EFI Jetrion portfolio utilises the benefits of LED curing, which EFI now incorporates into its wide-format and narrow web devices. The Jetrion 4059LX was introduced at last year’s Labelexpo to great acclaim with this device that offers a 720 x 720 dpi resolution on a 330 mm width machine. It features improved image quality, fine text as well as high throughput speeds and is able to print onto heat sensitive, thin and speciality stocks, thanks to its cool curing technology.

The Jetrion family offers benefits to users who need the benefits of digital print to broaden the types of application that, increasingly, today’s customers demand. Typically, all these machines address the need for versioning, localisation and regionalisation plus language and colour changes. This means that users can produce short run jobs profitably, even when orders are for less than 100 labels, as well as volumes of 50,000 or more.

Constructed on a robust and tough platform, Jetrion label presses are designed for longevity with their robust build and ability to be upgraded for future requirements. Running costs are kept down with ink-only pricing and no click charges, and EFI’s Jetrion manufactured UV-curable ink guarantees high quality and consistency. Drop-on-demand printheads with greyscale capabilities produce near photographic quality, complemented by accurate colours and excellent durability of the inks.

Jetrion presses are designed not only for established label printers but, also, for commercial businesses wanting to add an extra dimension to their existing capabilities. EFI’s digital platform removes the mystery and complexity that can be associated with this market sector, with inline functionality simplifying production and presenting a true end-to-end solution. Designed to be user friendly, these systems will continue to address the diversity and changes taking place in today’s label converting market with their versatility and low running costs ensuring a good return on investment for all businesses.
