The water-based inks comply with global food safety regulations
French packaging converter Cartoneo has chosen the HP PageWide C500 Press for its offset print quality and water-based, food safe inks, making it the first high-volume digital corrugated printing solution for France’s packaging converting market.
The company, which produces high-quality packaging for industrial and winery applications, will install the press at its site in southeastern France at the end of this year. Cartoneo currently runs two offset machines and found the HP solution the closest to its existing offset quality.
The water-based inks enable printing on both primary and secondary food packaging without an additional barrier, and comply with global food safety regulations, including Nestle guidance and Swiss Ordinance.
‘The HP PageWide C500 will deliver the same print quality with digital benefits, including reduced inventory, variable data and security and anti-counterfeiting marks,’ said Edmond Perrier, CEO. ‘This solution will also enable Cartoneo to expand into food packaging.’
