EDNN’s general manager Vincent Belksma
Dutch label printer Etiketten Drukkerij Noord Nederland (EDNN) has invested in a hybrid press from MPS. The EF Symjet hybrid press, which combines the MPS EF flexo platform with an integrated Domino N610i digital UV inkjet module, is a strategic addition to the company’s capacity and future.
Until now specialised in flexo label printing, the company has seen an increase in demand for shorter jobs and also for variable data. General manager Vincent Belksma said of the new investment, ‘Hybrid printing is the future of label printing, and with the EF Symjet hybrid press, we can combine digital technology with flexo printing, as well as the finishing, all in one pass.’ He continued, ‘We are extremely excited to offer the ultimate in flexibility, and our customers will appreciate the increased level of service with this truly integrated solution.’
The sale was led by Arnaud Fleuren, area sales manager at MPS Systems, who commented: ‘With its new hybrid press, EDNN can enter new markets that digital label printing brings such as personalisation and shorter print jobs, while offering enhanced benefits of flexo such as PMS colours, metallic shades (gold/silver), delam/relam blackmarks on backing paper, cold foil and spot varnish. It really combines the best of both worlds in a future-proof solution.’
Proximity to MPS with headquarters in Arnhem, The Netherlands, was another advantage for EDNN. ‘There’s no question. MPS makes high quality presses, and combined with the inkjet experience of Domino, we can print perfect quality – especially on shorter runs,’ concluded Mr Belksma.
