Scodix Ultra2 Pro

A new press has been added to the Scodix portfolio of embellishment systems. The Ultra2 Pro Digital Enhancement Press with Foil Station has been developed as a multi-material platform to print on substrates including coated and uncoated paper and board, laminates and plastics.

Building on the established Ultra Pro platform, the print engine for the new press has been changed to provide extensive flexibility, high accuracy of print and cost effectiveness, supported by fast switching between polymers. The Ultra2 features five ink tanks, a new adaptive LED process for curing with improved accuracy and Scodix PAS (Pin Activate Secure) technology for superior enhancement with ultra-fine detail.

CEO Roy Porat said, ‘Our aim is to continually support our customers to enhance their competitive edge. There is no polymer in the world that is suitable for all substrates, no drop behaves the same on all substrates or all printed material. Consequently, we have developed the Scodix Ultra2 Pro, alongside our variety of innovative polymers designed for different purposes, as a system that can deliver the ultimate results. This is essentially a multi-material platform.’

Users of the Ultra Pro will be able to upgrade to the Ultra2, starting in 2018. The presses support most CMYK print processes including offset, HP indigo ElectroInk, inkjet and toners. Applications include business/greeting cards, folders, book covers, brochures, labels and packaging.
