Digital labels produced on Xeikon CX3 press and ABG Digicon finishing line
Bradford-based The Label Makers has used its digital print and finishing expertise to produce a short run of extra large labels for Lanique liqueur bottles.
The company already produces labels for Lanique’s standard size bottles and had to replicate the high quality of the smaller label for a run of just 300 six-litre bottles, designed for specialist cocktail bars.
The large labels were printed on the company’s Xeikon CX3 digital label press on Fasson Rustique cream material with a permanent adhesive for a rich parchment, hand-made look. They were then finished on an AB Graphic Digicon adding gold hot foil crests and a flexo brown on the foil, embossing and a matt spot varnish for additional tactile effect, before being die-cut and rewound.
Lawrence Huggler, Lanique’s director and owner, said, ‘Lanique’s bottle labels are the most important brand asset we have as a company, after our secret recipe. As such, we can only entrust their production to companies who share our goals. The Label Makers are as passionate about quality and service as we are, making it the perfect fit.
‘I expected it to be nearly impossible to find a solution for our new six litre bottle that could be printed to the same quality as our standard bottle labels. However, The Label Makers accepted our order and have turned it around very quickly. The final result is fantastic – they have absolutely exceeded our expectations,’ he concluded.
The Label Makers’ Kevin Lyons said, ‘Significantly up-scaling the size of the label without compromising on quality was the real test here. Our highly skilled team has a wealth of experience in the premium drinks market and they used this knowledge to ensure that our customer’s expectations were met. The finished product looks stunning.’
