mprint now offers digital embellishment
mprint GmbH is set to unveil a new digital hybrid press with fully integrated, digital cold foiling at Labelexpo. The foiling module was developed in cooperation with Leonhard Kurz and will be seen on the new mlabel Gen3 inkjet press also launched at the show.
Using the Digital Metal UV ink technology from Kurz, this latest generation mlabel press will offer cold foiling inline as an optional unit on a compact footprint. It uses Kyocera printheads to achieve 600dpi, printing in width up to 330mm and can be configured to include seven+ colours for extended colour gamut, spot colours or spot varnishes. As did its predecessor, Gen3 also includes inline laminating and die-cutting as standard.
Especially suited for wine and spirit labels, cosmetics and other high value label and packaging applications, the integration of cold foiling into the digital workflow will offer brand owners more possibilities to enhance their products. According to the company, ‘The machine shown at Labelexpo will offer something entirely new: it is the first fully integrated digital cold foiling unit, allowing not only the production of metallic effects on labels and packaging in a single pass, but also customisation of these effects with every print.’
