A TA cold foil from API has helped to increase production speed and quality at Olympus Print Group.
West Yorkshire-based Olympus Print Group specialises in self-adhesive labels and large format digital print and applies the API TA cold foil using an ABG Digicon 3 finishing line and Sericol cold foil adhesive.
‘The TA foil from API has enabled us to increase our output by over 50%, which is fantastic,’ explained Steve Makin, business improvement manager at Olympus Print Group. ‘Not only has it helped our efficiencies, it has also significantly improved the quality of our final product.’
The cold foil, which is being applied to gold and silver PP and PE substrates on the Olympus digital converting line, has taken application speeds from 8-10m/min up to 25-30m/min.
‘When we talked to Steve about the machine speed he was getting with his previous cold foil, we were confident that, with the technical support we offer, we could help him achieve vastly superior results,’ commented Phil Clarkson, account manager at API. ‘Happily, we were able to deliver both greater speed and higher quality.’
