The Durst Tau UV inkjet press can be used to created textured effects and patterns
In partnership with Korean manufacturer Serom, Durst has introduced Patternware, a digital enhancement process that uses inkjet to produce patterns and textures for a variety of applications.
The textured effects can be printed during the main printing process on the Durst Tau UV inkjet label press. The Digital Patternware controls the height of the printed surface of the Tau UV inks to form a pattern creating three-dimensional effects. The various effects and patterns change depending on the angle of the light, and can be used instead of lenticular technology and embossing for improved product appeal and security applications.
The new process promises cost-effective, value-adding production of labels through an environmentally friendly, fast process that creates less waste.
