Digital labels with screen varnish for tactile effect

Working with agency Design Happy, Label Apeel has used its digital print expertise to produce a range of labels for A Little Bit, a brand of natural, homemade dressings and sauces.

Printed on the company’s HP Indigo press on Manter’s Freelife Merida White substrate in CMYK plus green, the labels featured a high-build gloss screen varnish to create the tactile effect of a hand-stamped logo.

The team at Design Happy commented, ‘Label Apeel was a natural choice to make our vision a reality. They coordinated a sample run that allowed us to effortlessly test the label to get the optimal result before moving to full production. We used a natural, uncoated substrate with the brand-mark given a high build screen to add tactility and standout; and each label was die-cut with torn edges to simulate its hand-finished look and feel. We’re really pleased with the quality of the finish and we can’t wait to see the products on shelf!’

‘This suite of labels showcases exactly how a brand and design team can work smoothly together with us to create eye-catching packaging,’ added Craig Goodman, sales executive at Label Apeel. The company chose this project as its ‘Label of the Month’ for April.
