Quality Tape & Label Co (QTL) bought an HP Indigo 20000 digital press at Labelexpo Americas 2016 to produce labels and shrink sleeves more efficiently and to expand its flexible packaging offering.

The Georgia, USA-based labels and packaging converting company currently has two upgraded narrow web HP Indigo WS6800 digital presses in operation; the 20000 will offer greater imposition efficiency with a larger format. QTL estimates that the new 30-inch press will save more than 200 hours of print time over six months, freeing capacity on its existing presses and helping the company to attract new business. QTL purchased the new press on the show floor at Labelexpo Americas.

‘Digital printing enables us to provide our customers added value with unique application possibilities, and we want to extend those capabilities into flexible packaging, while also gaining new efficiencies with a larger format,’ said president Rob Daniels. ‘We are confident that the HP Indigo 20000, along with support from HP, will help us capture new flexible packaging growth opportunities and be an even better partner for our customers.’

The company’s new press will be installed in October and will be used to produce labels for supplements, chemical, food and household products as well as shrink sleeves and flexible packaging, such as stand up pouches.
