The TCC 3300 Rotary Digital Diecutter

US manufacturer of re-register systems and die-cutting equipment, Rotary Technologies has developed a die-cutter specifically targeted at the digital print market, the TCC 3300 Rotary Digital Diecutter.

‘The TCC 3300 represents a new way of thinking about digital finishing. The same machine can meet a variety of customer needs. It can run as a standalone machine one day, then easily positioned with a digital press creating a single pass solution the next day,’ said president Joe Nicholson. ‘The TCC 3300 offers the advantages of semi rotary, using a single magnetic cylinder with flexible dies; while allowing simple integration with digital presses because the web does not shuffle back and forth like semi rotary.’

The new cutter completed its beta testing at Southern Tape & Label and has been running in full production mode in recent months. ‘We have been using Rotary’s Servo 3000 reregister system on our flexo presses for years for our digital finishing and was excited when they approached us with their new die-cutter. The TCC 3300 is extremely efficient and sets up fast. We’re able to finish more jobs per day allowing future growth of our digital business,’ commented Bob Ramsey Jr, Southern Tape & Label. He continued, ‘In the near future we will be moving the TCC 3300 inline with our Jetrion press to print and die-cut at the same time.’

The fully servo-driven eight-axis die-cutter has a compact design using 3.5 x 6 feet of floor space, and has an approximate 15 inch web path from unwind to rewind. It features automatic register setting and uses a fixed magnetic cylinder for mounting industry standard flexible dies that covers a range of label repeats between 7.5 to 15.75 inches. The maximum speed is 300 ft/min depending on the label repeat.
