The Durst stand at drupa 2016

Durst made a successful presentation of its Tau 330 UV inkjet printer portfolio at drupa. The manufacturer also demonstrated its new workflow optimisation image processing software, the Workflow-Label.

Industrial inkjet specialist, Durst, made presentations of single-pass and multi-pass printing systems for its large format, corrugated and displays, and label and package printing segments.

The show provided a great opportunity for the company to gainnew customers from Europe, USA, Latin America and the Asia/Pacific region. One of the main attractions was the label flagship Tau 330, with its individual configurability, industrial scalability, and as a complete end to end with the near-line LFS 330 Laser Finishing System for fully automated digital label production. In addition to this industrial approach, Durst launched the new Tau 330E, which paves the way for small- and medium-sized companies to enter into digital production. This entry level model is priced at 35% below the top version, but features the identical print quality and productivity. It comes as a standalone printer system, equipped with up to five colours. Durst has also developed new highly pigmented UV inks for the economical Tau 330E, which reduce ink consumption by up to 25%. The company also addressed the issue of workflow optimisation and presented its own image processing software, the Workflow-Label, which enables direct order processing and print data control via a web browser.

‘Our Tau 330 has fully managed to bring the inkjet technology on par with other production methods,’ said Helmuth Munter, segment manager, label & package printing. ‘We already provide an almost unrivalled configurability and scaling today, we don’t make any compromises with regards to our print quality and productivity. We open up new business areas such as primary packaging for our customers. We simplify workflow processes and assist with a comprehensive service and support network. Digital production in the label and package printing segment is a reality and we are making it happen.’
