The UV LED inkjet press
Fujifilm will showcase inkjet developments at drupa with the launch of a UV LED inkjet press for flexible packaging and enhancements to the Jet Press 720S B2 inkjet machine.
Both machines extend the company’s digital packaging focus with improvements to the Jet Press 720S including the ability to handle heavier stock for folding carton production. Enhanced software on the machine will improve productivity by 20%, an inline UV coater will improve appearance and protection, and will also show closer integration with finishing devices.
The UV inkjet press will be 54 cm wide and run at 50 m/min. It features a new technology, Enhanced Under Coating and Nitrogen Purging (EUCON) which enhances ink adhesion to non-porous substrates and reduces ink odour.
In an update on the adoption of the Jet Press 720S, the company claimed to have 70 installations worldwide, making it the most successful B2 inkjet press.
