Swedish digital label printer Etipack AB has bought a DC330/flatbed converting line from Grafisk Maskinfabrik (GM). The line features a combination of flatbed technology and semi-rotary web movement, and joins a DC330/hybrid laser finishing line supplied to the same company in 2012.

The investment in GM’s flatbed technology has been made with the aim of pursuing increasing growth in digitally printed specialty labels. This fifth generation machine offers both hot and cold foil stamping as well as embossing and a screen printing unit.

Uffe Nielsen, GM’s CEO, explained the importance of standing out in a crowd, ‘In our daily lives, we are exposed to an increasing amount of marketing and communication efforts from product providers. The fact that we are surrounded by such amounts of advertising wherever we go makes us able to filter out these impressions and thus, advertising becomes inefficient. This means that if you want to ‘cut through the noise’ and make consumers notice your products, not only do you need a good product, but you also need to focus on the quality of your packaging to give a good first impression – and as the saying goes: First impressions last!’

This is exactly what Etipack is aiming to provide to its client. ‘We experience an increasing demand for complex labels, and we wish to be able to cater to all needs and wants within our industry, no matter how special or complex they may be. And this is where the finishing line from Grafisk Maskinfabrik comes into the picture: to help us deliver any label you can think of. Our longstanding relationship with Grafisk Maskinfabrik has proven very innovative and fruitful,’ said Mattias Wikander and Mats Winde of Etipack.
