Coca-Cola is creating unique shrink sleeves for the classic bottle

The digitally printed ‘Share a Coke With  . . . ‘ campaign is going from strength to strength, being rolled out in South Africa, the USA and Mexico as well as the extended 2014 pan-European version, reports DLP’s technical editor, Sean Smyth.

In Israel, Coca-Cola is doing something even more exotic, producing over 2 million totally unique sleeves for the classic Coke hobble bottle. These are shrink sleeves printed on HP Indigo that use an automated design algorithm to deliver a unique design, with varying colours and patterns behind the standard Coke logo and nutrition facts, barcode, etc. Each one is different, with Coke reporting they are already becoming collectables and proving to be very popular in the country, where the Share a Coke campaign is also running with both English and Hebrew names.

Another example of leveraging the unique capabilities of digital package printing to create interest and engagement with customers.
