CDT 1600 PC Laser Pro
Labeltech, Colordyne Technologies (CDT), LasX Industries, and Delphax Technologies will be holding an open house 14-15 May 2014 to demonstrate two CDT Production Class digital printing label presses.
The 1600-PC Sprint and the 1600-PC Laser Pro units will be on display and printing live at Labeltech’s premises, in IJsselstein, near Utrecht in the Netherlands.
The two days at Labeltech will offer the opportunity for packaging manufacturers to view both the 1600-PC Sprint’s fast speed and high resolution printing, and the 1600-PC Laser Pro’s in-line laser cutting and finishing abilities.
The units installed at Labeltech are the first units to be installed in Europe following several installations in the United States. The CDT print engine, supplementing both these units, prints full process CMYK at 49 m/min at 1600 x 1200 dpi resolution.
The 1600-PC digital colour label press platforms reproduce the look and feel of CMYK flexo printing for labels and tags. The 1600-PC Series complements existing flexo services by providing flexibility in handling print jobs which may be inefficient and not cost effective on existing flexo presses.
The 1600-PC Sprint is an entry level, roll-to-roll printing system capable of printing full-bleed on pre-die cut material, ready for label applicator equipment. It is also capable of printing on continuous rolls of material for the job to be completed off-line on existing web finishing systems.
Using memjet technology, the 1600-PC Laser Pro also touts print speeds up to 49 m/min at 1600 x 1200 dpi resolution. It is full, inline finishing system and LasX’s laser cutting system can accurately kiss-cut any size or shape label on the fly and finish labels with UV or aqueous-based coatings or lamination.
Starting at 11:00 am, both days will consist of:
• Presentation on technologies of Colordyne and LasX
• Demonstration of both the CDT 1600-PC Sprint and Laser Pro units
• Question and answer session with the technical teams
• Meet and greet with the presidents and owners of Labeltech, Peter Van Leeuwen, Colordyne Technologies, Gary Falconbridge, LasX Industries, William Dinauer, and Delphax Technologies, Steve Hubbard.
