Edge 850 label printer

iSys Label has released new variable data software, iSys Variable Data Printing (iVDP) version 2.2.0.0, a package developed exclusively for the company’s short to mid run digital label printers, the Apex 1290 and Edge 850.

Compatible with iSys2Print label software programs, iVDP provides the user the ability to combine static and dynamic content to create varying multi-graphic labels containing variable text, images and barcodes. Layouts can be set up and configured to run variable portions in both horizontal and vertical dataset formats enabling the user to create highly-targeted, professional designs. Included with the software is the company’s pre-adjust colour registration app and memory management system.

President Mark Hopkins said, ‘With the addition of iVDP, our label printing solution is complete and comprehensive. The innovative features embedded in this technology are many and that has allowed us to stand alone with a very unique offering. iSys Label has created digital label printers that provide all the sophistication needed in our industry and yet so simple to operate.’

The software has a built-in Pantone Library and advanced colour management tools that allow for clean and crisp high resolution and eliminates the need to pre-print labels. Delivering 1200 x 600 dpi resolution and print speeds up to 9.13 m/min, users will be able to increase productivity, reduce inventories and decrease lengthy lead times by incorporating variable data printing into the current print solution.

The Edge 850 desktop digital label printer was launched in September 2012 and is receiving excellent reviews from customers.

‘The iSys Edge 850 system has helped us in important ways. Since we no longer need to create plates or dies for short run orders, we are more competitive. We are also able to give our customers the quick delivery they sometimes need. Not only are labels printed on our Edge 850 a profit centre, but offering these labels and services to our customers has given us the by-product of an increased number of jobs going to our conventional presses,’ said Gary Crockett, president of FlexoOne, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
