Allen Datagraph Systems is set to introduce its new iTech Axxis HS Digital Label System at WestPack 2013, held this month in Anaheim, California.
The machine, designed and manufactured in the US, is comprised of both a high-resolution roll-fed CMYK print engine featuring LED toner technology and a label finisher that laminates, integrates die-less die cutting and then strips, slits and rewinds to finished rolls of labels.
‘We have been very successful selling the tabletop iTech Axxis Digital Label System, but our customers have also expressed interest in a faster version. The iTech AxxisHS Digital Label System is ADSI’s answer for our customers who appreciated the flexibility of the original system and the ability to manufacture, print and finish labels in a complete, all digital workflow with greater productivity. Our system has faster printing and finishing,’ commented Mark Vanover, sales and marketing.
Included with the new printer is Wasatch SoftRIP software that manages all print job parameters. The layout features enable users to maximise substrate usage to minimise waste. A full suite of colour control capabilities with ICC colour management, tone curve reproduction and unique and powerful spot colour replacement features, enhance the print quality of the label printer. The RIP includes stochastic screening and a consumable cost estimator. A variable data print option is available, enabling sequential numbering and bar codes along with graphic elements.
The system is able to finish on-demand labels of any shape. About 25% faster than the standard iTech Axxis Digital Label Finisher, it laminates, integrates die-less die cutting (any vector shape designed in Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw), strips, slits and rewinds to finished rolls of labels.
The new printer includes an LED toner printer manufactured by OKI which images consumer quality labels with brilliant, durable, consistent colour at 1200 dpi x 600 dpi and at speeds up 9.1m/min. It has a maximum width of 216 mm and a wide degree of substrate flexibility that does not require top coating. For maximum flexibility, the printer is capable of being used stand alone in a pre die-cut label workflow.
WestPack is one of the US’s largest design and manufacturing events enabling California’s packaging professionals to source 3,000 suppliers of materials, machinery, components and contract services.
