RealPro Toolkit is the new software suite of tools to be unveiled by FFEI this year at the show at the NEC on 27 and 28 February.
The new suite has been designed to help overcome the challenges of a labelling and packaging pre-press cycle. The product will be marketed towards agencies, trade shops and converters with the aim to increase productivity and standardise document structure from design concept to production ready files, regardless of the print process.
One of the key factors behind the development of RealPro Toolkit was the high demand for a packaging pre-press solution that enables users to prepare Adobe Illustrator files and PDF for production efficiently, as Andy Cook, managing director, explains, ‘It’s not a secret that when it comes to packaging pre-press, Adobe Illustratoris the most popular application. However, many users face the same problems with proprietary file formats, PDF format conversion, lost layers, transparency issues – just to name a few. RealPro Toolkit addresses this need for a complete solution inside Adobe Illustrator, providing packaging agencies with the power to make the pre-press element of their workflow as easy to manage as possible, in a cost effective way.’
The software consists of over 12 modules designed to address specific pre-press workflow requirements such as file editing and preparation, colour management, trapping and step and repeat tasks. Features also extend to specialist tasks such as cylinder repeats, patterns and artwork pre-distortion.
Supporting all industry standard file formats, RealPro Toolkit can integrate into any existing workflow and is optimised for APPE-based solutions, such as FFEI’s RealPro Workflow. All linked data remains live inside the final stepped PDF, enabling the one up file to be easily replaced, and modules such as step and repeat, and trapping, can all be edited from within the workflow.
