Italian online print provider Pixart has taken delivery of an Epson Surepress 4033 inkjet label press and is offering a label and sticker service with turnaround of 24 hours, or five to seven days if you can wait.
The company is combining the six colour SurePress (it does not have the version with opaque white) with a Sei laser cutting system for simple production and they are targeting food labelling.
Chief executive Alessandro Tenderini said, ‘Many domestic small businesses could benefit from being able to produce short run labels for food products. They are often family run businesses for which creating special packages and labels can be a problem,’ he said. ‘Asking us to be partners in the printing process provides a quick, practical solution, competitive prices and deliveries in 24 hours. What used to be long negotiations with typographers can now be done in a few simple steps on the web.’
Pixart announced it has sold a major stake of the business to private equity house Alcedo and it believes it could be a useful ally as it also has companies such as wine producers in its portfolio.
