Antalis has appointed Lesley Mercer as its new commercial manager. Ms Mercer, who has previously worked for both MacFarlane and Woodway, will be responsible for the purchasing and deployment of bespoke packaging products and services – a significant growth area for the business.
Drawing on her history of delivering profitability within the industry, Ms Mercer hopes to support the ongoing expansion of Antalis’ packaging unit, which last year opened a dedicated new design lab at the company’s headquarters in Coalville, Leicestershire.
‘In recent years, the packaging industry has seen a significant shift towards bespoke design and personalisation,’ said director of packaging David Hope. ‘Both in terms of the aesthetics and functionality, and with the rising demand for environmentally-friendly packaging, we are seeing a boom in the e-commerce and corrugated markets.
‘With this in mind, we’ve appointed a new commercial manager to provide a more strategic approach to personalised packaging solutions and to continue to pitch Antalis as the best in the industry. With Lesley’s extraordinary track record, she’ll be a real asset to the team and we look forward to seeing how she will make her mark on our thriving packaging division.’
‘I’m delighted to be joining the Antalis team as their new commercial manager during what is a really exciting time for the packaging industry,’ Ms Mercer added. ‘An increasing number of businesses now favour personalised and environmentally friendly packaging solutions. As a result, we’re seeing an unprecedented demand for bespoke pack designs that provide logistical benefits such as quicker packing speeds, better protection, as well as ensuring packages can be easily returned.
‘As such, I’m really looking forward to working with clients to meet these changing needs and ensure Antalis continues to provide the unrivalled customer experience that it has become well-known for.’
