The Packaging Experts is set to allow customers to order bespoke printed boxes directly from its website, due to the installation of a Roland DG VersaUV LEF-200 flatbed UV printer.
Founded over five years ago by Paul Marsh, The Packaging Experts moved into new premises in Basingstoke last year. This space has enabled the company to invest in new technology, including the Roland printer, supplied by printMAX in December 2018.
‘I spent 20 years in print management, and when my employer went into administration it was the perfect opportunity for me to start running my own business,’ explained Mr Marsh. ‘I’ve always been a big advocate of Roland so was looking forward to investing in a Roland system when we had space for the new printing equipment.’
With the new service, customers will be able to choose their preferred size and shape of carton, then send their design directly to the VersaUV’s VersaWorks 6 RIP software to be printed automatically onto the packaging in full colour and white.
‘We want to get manufacturing back in the UK, and our new technology and service will help support that,’ Mr Marsh concluded. ‘I like to find the right equipment to solve people’s problems. We used to do everything by hand so having the automated Roland workflow will make a big difference to The Packaging Experts and to our customers. It’s a very unique service.’
