DTM Print has launched a new foil imprinter, the FX510e, for finishing and highlighting product labels. The machine can add metallic or laminated highlights to blank or pre-printed labels, whether they have been produced by inkjet, laser, offset or flexo printing. It is also available as the FX510ec model, featuring a built-in guillotine cutter that allows die-cutting of reflective and continuous label stock.
The FX510e features several changes from the previous model, the FX500e. It comes with a new chassis and an internal multi-functional roll holder allowing the use of rolls with a core of up to 76mm. An external passive label unwinder mounted on roller bearings is also included, supporting label rolls with a maximum size of 114mm, and an outer diameter of up to 254mm.
The imprinting process is completely digital, meaning virtually any design elements like borders, graphics, fonts and backgrounds can be printed. A fast and efficient one-colour personalisation for POS or POI applications is possible as well.
Metallic foils in gold, silver, blue and red are all available for the FX510e, along with various spot colours and clear foil. Furthermore with the clear laminating foil partial glossy add-ons, comparable with an UV coating, can be applied to the product labels.
Finally, Germany based DTM Print is also offering a new thermal transfer label substrate for the FX510e: DTM Poly Clear Gloss TT. This substrate enables the production of crystal-clear product labels with imprinted elements.
