A new faster, upgraded version of the AccurioLabel toner press has been introduced by Konica Minolta. Developed to bring important benefits for customers in terms of productivity, flexibility and stability, the 230 model will be officially shown for the first time at Labelexpo Europe, in September.
The enhancements to the press include increased speed and productivity. Now running at 23.4m/min, it can print in four colours on most coated and uncoated papers, PP and PET media at full speed, which the company said is equivalent to a 73% increase in real terms.
A resolution of 1200 x 1200dpi on print runs of up to 1000 metres can be achieved without the need for recalibration, with time between jobs eliminated to increase productivity further. A built-in feeding speed detector will ensure more accurate print registration and cut down on waste. Overprinting capability has also been added, which means the press can add digital print to pre-printed media, such as flexo white on clear PP labels.
‘With over 350 installations of the forerunners to the AccurioLabel 230, the core technology is proven worldwide,’ said Jon Pritchard, industrial print business unit leader at Konica Minolta Business Solutions UK. ‘Its robust and simple-to-operate/maintain concept makes for the perfect entry-level digital label press. Printers looking at entering the digital label market no longer have to compromise on media width, speed or quality. Whilst the AL230 has the price tag of an entry-level press, its performance and flexibility allow it to compete with the long-standing digital label presses in the market.’
Built on Konica Minolta’s established AccurioPress engine technology, the AccurioLabel 230 is targeted at small- and mid-range segments and can be integrated with inline semi-rotary finishing.
