CS Labels, Marzek Etiketten+Packaging, Reynders and Stratus Packaging have been nominated for the inaugural European Converter of the Year Award, to be presented as part of this year’s Label Industry Global Awards competition.
All four are users of digital printing technology to produce labels and packaging; CS Labels is a fully digital printer in the UK, solely using Xeikon press technology, with Austria’s Marzek and Stratus of France running HP Indigo presses, and Belgium-based Reynders a Domino inkjet press user.
The European Converter of the Year Award, introduced this year to help mark the 40th anniversary of Labelexpo at Labelexpo Europe 2019, recognises the European printer/converter that has stood out over the last year and met a number of criteria. This includes delivering a key innovation or product and technical development; developing pan-European product sales in its chosen market(s); and becoming a global supplier in special or niche areas of operation.
Other prizes to be presented at the awards ceremony on 24 September include two awards for innovation (for companies with less and more than 300 employees), an environment and sustainability award, the R. Stanton Avery Global Achievement Award, and the Rising Star Award. The latter is another new award, honouring the achievements of emerging talent in the label and packaging industry.
