StickerYou, a Toronto-based tech startup and custom sticker, label and iron-on producer, is to open what it claims is the world’s largest sticker store on 12 August.
Located at 677-679 Queen West, the store will offer a combination of retail and product experiences, with end-use demonstrations, kiosks for on-site custom orders, a sticker museum and sticker art exhibition.
The opening of the site forms part of an experiential, omnichannel marketing strategy by StickerYou, which it predicts will, ‘change the retail landscape.’
StickerYou was founded in 2008 by Andrew Witkin. At that time, it used one machine and software to offer customised sticker designs. Today, it is a global e-commerce business dealing in custom-printed, die-cut products for businesses and consumers for marketing, packaging, décor and personal applications. Epson and Zund machines are used for wide format applications, with Xeikon and AB Graphic technology used to produce roll labels.
By opening its new store, StickerYou stated that it is, ‘leading the trend of small to medium-sized businesses moving into bricks and mortar spaces.’
The exterior of the Toronto store will be decorated using a vinyl graphic. The building exterior is 27 x 33ft, while the decal is 17.5 x 30.5ft. StickerYou worked with Complete Signs and Graphics to digitally print it, and 3M for the application process. The decal has been printed on 3M Envision SV480mC-10 film and overlaminated with 3M Envision 8550M matt overlaminate film.
