Photonic printing specialist DataLase has named Paul Dustain as its new executive vice president of sales and marketing.
Mr Dustain brings more than 20 years of sales experience to the role. Previously operating in the defence and commercial sectors for 37 years, notably the global sales and business development of photonic and optical technologies, DataLase noted that Mr Dustain understands the potential of the business and the complexities of the retail print and labelling market.
In his new role he is to focus on promoting DataLase’s unique photonic printing and case coding technologies to new and existing markets globally. His appointment strengthens the company’s commercial team.
DataLase’s product set is built upon inkless, laser reactive technologies that have been developed for use within the FMCG market, specifically in food and drink, home and personal care, and quick-service restaurant applications.
Clare Lewis, DataLase COO and CFO, commented, ‘His proven track record in leading cross functional teams to deliver beyond customer expectations will help propel our technologies to the forefront. In addition, Paul’s vision, strategic thinking and customer-first approach align perfectly with our wider goals for DataLase.’
Mr Dustain said, ‘The unique innovations behind DataLase make it a really exciting proposition for the market. My role will be to take this technology and help brand owners use it to unlock new heights of consumer engagement. Packaging customisation is fast becoming a pivotal platform for retail, as businesses seek to build engaging brand experiences. I’m delighted to be working with a company that’s at the forefront of innovation and able to offer a fresh new approach.’
