Screen has developed a new inkjet press based on its Truepress Jet L350UV platform, equipped for printing in up to seven colours and featuring proprietary colour management technology.
The Truepress Jet L350UV SAI – reflecting the claimed ‘stability’, ‘accuracy’ and ‘integrated’ technologies of the press – is configured with additional slots for mounting inkjet printheads. This means, along with CMYK, the press can be loaded with white, orange and blue inks. Screen is introducing blue ink at Labelexpo Europe 2019, to provide printers with greater scope to produce the larger number of corporate colours and logos now featuring blue.
The proprietary colour management technology, developed in collaboration with CGS Publishing Technologies International, help provide a far wider range of colour expression than was previously possible, according to Screen.
Truepress Jet L350UV SAI comes in various models, with the flagship ‘Z’ having a print speed of up to 80m/min. The entry-level ‘E’ model carries a lower installation costs (E), ‘S’ is the standard model and ‘LM’ is a dedicated model for food labels. Each of these four systems can be upgraded on-site with additional colours.
To be introduced at Labelexpo Europe 2019, Screen plans to launch the system worldwide starting in January 2020, introducing the S, E, Z and LM models sequentially.
‘SAI’ can also mean both colour and high in Japanese. The Truepress Jet L350UV SAI is the latest addition to Screen’s inkjet label printing portfolio. First introduced in 2013, more recent additions have including the ‘+’ series, including ‘+LM’, offering enhanced capabilities to achieve low migration.
Low migration is to be another focus for Screen at Labelexpo Europe 2019.
