Xeikon has developed fleXflow, a new production line for printing and constructing inline digital pouches.
The line is driven by the X-800 DFE, which precedes a CX500 dry toner press for printing, an LCoat500 for thermal lamination, then inline pouch construction.
UK printer CS Labels has previously pioneered digital pouch production using dry toner technology, for which it has won awards. CS Labels is also shortlisted for the inaugural European Converter of the Year award.
fleXflow is presented at Labelexpo Europe 2019, where Xeikon is participating in the Flexible Packaging Arena. It will show text and graphics being digitally printed onto the thermal laminate, preparing the outside layer ready for the construction of the pouch with a series of barriers before the manufacturing process.
