Infigo Software and key hardware partners used last month’s Labelexpo Europe 2019 to showcase the potential of an end-to-end, web-to-pack workflow.
Branded ‘Pack IT’, Infigo Software worked with HP Indigo, Karlville and Nobelus during the four-day event to complete and deliver more than 500 products, spanning over 200 individual orders from a single web-to-pack kiosk.
Visitors started their journey by attending a kiosk running Infigo Software’s SaaS platform, Catfish, to design their can and pouch, selecting backgrounds, colours and adding text before checking out their product via an interactive 3D preview. The output files and order information was then submitted to HP PrintOS Site Flow, which managed any production requirements for the HP Indigo 20000 to output the jobs. The printed pieces were then converted on the Karlville Pack Ready laminator and pouch-making machine to make the three-side-seal pouches. Nobelus provided a different film each day, including soft-touch, holographic and glossy finishes.
This allowed how attendees to receive their goods the exact same day.
Douglas Gibson, managing director of Infigo Software, said, ‘The purpose of this collaboration was to show converters what could be accomplished through a streamlined, automated production process. With our ‘Pack IT’ solution, we were able to integrate top-of-the-line web-to-pack software and equipment to produce products at a rapid pace without sacrificing quality.’
