Durst Oceania has officially opened after welcoming the supply chain to its premises in Tullamarine, Australia.
The direct presence in the region was announced earlier this year and is led by managing director Matt Ashman.
Mr Ashman has 15-plus years of experience with Durst’s inkjet-based technology, both in the UK as sales manager at Durst Image Technology UK, and in Australia and New Zealand as sales manager at Photo Electronic Services where he managed sales and marketing for the Durst Rho industrial inkjet printing range, Massivit 3D print technology, and complementary systems from Caldera and Barbieri.
Durst Group CEO Christoph Gamper said, ‘‘Labels and packaging is growing in Australia, just like it is all around the world. For us, this means new opportunities arising and there is still a lot that we can bring to the market – not just from the machines side but also the software, portfolio, and optimisation sides. That’s what we are going to focus on for the next few years.’
Mr Gamper added, ‘Australia is a very important market for us and Durst is about its people. Having Matt here, who has worked with us for more than 10 years, has enabled us to further service this region and customers directly.’
