Kao Collins and Colordyne Technologies have used the first Kao Innovation Day to showcase the capability of their combined technologies to add value through inkjet.
The two companies have a strategic relationship covering UV and aqueous inkjet technology. More recently, Kao Chimigraf has taken on representation of Colordyne’s range of UV and aqueous pigment inkjet print engines throughout Europe. This has seen it install two digital inkjet print engines at its facility in Barcelona, Spain, one for UV/LED and one aqueous.
These systems were the focal point of the Kao Innovation Day event, which Kao Chimigraf hosted on 14 November and attracted representatives from 22 companies based in six different countries.
Also showcased was X-Bar from Kao Collins, a high-quality, high-volume, high-speed, single-pass print module. X-Bar is a monochrome system that can run black or spot colours, and os compatible with water-based dye, water-based pigment, pigment polymer and UV-curable inks. An electron beam (EB) ink has been designed for the X-Bar. The module can run at a maximum of 1000ft/min at 1200 × 600dpi.
All three systems are designed to retrofit to existing printing equipment snd help printer’s enhance their output with the benefits of digital inkjet printing, such as customisation and personalisation.
Kristin Adams, marketing manager at Kao Collins, said, ‘Our partnership with Colordyne demonstrates our commitment to delivering the best solutions to our customers.’
Taylor Buckthorpe, director of sales at Colordyne, added, ‘With the new advancements that have been made in the new Memjet technology, we’re seeing superior water-fastness, superior light-fastness, and better scratch, scuff and rough resistance; that’s largely due to the folks at Kao.’
