For the sixth consecutive year, BillerudKorsnäs has received the highest rating level from EcoVadis.
The EcoVadis assessment is an evaluation of how well a company has integrated the principles of CSR into its business and management system. The methodology covers 21 criteria across four themes of environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
This year’s evaluation shows that BillerudKorsnäs scores high in environmental and supply chain work. One example is BillerudKorsnäs’ commitment to reduce carbon emissions in line with the Paris Agreement. Today the company uses 97% bio-fuels in the production, and the long-term goals is to become fossil-free. Another important area is the sustainable procurement of wood, where BillerudKorsnäs complies with high standards.
EcoVadis is one of several sustainability assessments, such as the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices, that confirm BillerudKorsnäs as, ‘one of the leading companies in sustainability within the industry.’
