FFEI has appointed Paul Bulpitt as its new head of R&D.
In his new role, Mr Bulpitt will be responsible for both FFEI’s life sciences and digital inkjet business R&D teams, driving the development of products for client-based projects.
He will also become an active member of the company’s executive operating management team, leading the development teams to ensure both client and market needs are achieved. He will also take an important role in developing and implementing the company’s technical strategy and business improvement initiatives.
Mr Bulpitt brings ‘significant experience’ of working in global corporations as well as privately owned SMEs, according to FFEI, across high technology industries including the medical device and diagnostics sectors. In addition, he has successfully provided key planning, preparation and budgeting support in several successful grant applications to both EU/UK and US funding bodies, securing over £40 million grant funding. Immediately prior to this appointment at FFEI, he was head of program management at DNA Electronics where he was responsible for the strategic management of flagship product development, including delivery of molecular, biochemistry, electronics, hardware and software. This required the alignment of key stakeholders and project teams on key objectives and milestones.
Mr Bulpitt explained, ‘I have a passion for innovative technology and was attracted by the exceptional capabilities held within FFEI and the technologies and solutions they develop. I’m excited by the opportunity to leverage and combine these in new ways to capture new market opportunities. FFEI’s development team are highly experienced and have demonstrated lots of success in the past, I’m excited by the prospect of building on this success and grow our portfolio of innovative products and technologies.’
Head of R&D is a new role within FFEI, and reflects the company’s, ‘continued growth developing innovative digital imaging projects for its clients,’ noted FFEI CEO Andy Cook.
‘Paul is a seasoned R&D leader, having led many product development projects from client need all the way through to commercial planning and market launch. He has a wealth of experience with highly technical development teams who have pushed the boundaries of innovation. I’m looking forward to working with Paul as we continue to grow the business with exciting new and innovative product developments.’
