Print finishing equipment specialist Duplo has developed a new range of machines, grouped as Packaging Solutions, and designed to showcase ‘the power of creativity’ when they debut at next month’s Packaging Innovations 2020 in Birmingham, UK.
Duplo’s Packaging Solutions range includes the newly launched PFI Blade B3 digital shape cutter and DuSense Digifoil. Intended for shape cutting and converting labels and packaging, PFI Blade B3 can handle sheet sizes up to 400 x 600mm, substrates with a maximum thickness of 1.3mm, and operate at a cutting speed of 800mm/s. PFI Blade B3 has a small footprint and green button technology. It is claimed to dramatically lower the cost of creating short-run packaging, custom-shaped cards, labels and samples.
DuSense Digifoil can apply foil at a speed up to 8m/min, with a foil width of 320 x 500m. It can handle all types of media printed using toner technology or the Dulpo DuSense spot UV sensory coater. This is noted at being a fraction of the cost of conventional methods. Digifoil complements the varnished material created on DuSense, which works with a range of laminated films and 3D foils in different colours.
PFI BLade B3 and DuSense Digifoil are complemented by the DuSense sensory coater, which now includes a barcode option. Equipped with three high definition 600dpi heads, this coater handles up to 1080 B3 sheets per hour, as well as handling heavy solids and fine detail in the same pass.
Duplo stated that, ‘by combining these three outstanding products, Duplo is offering the UK market the perfect combination of short run packaging products that can cut, embellish and foil, from a single supplier.’
Duplo will present these products at Packaging Innovations 2020 at the NEC in Birmingham on 26-27 February.
