Inkjet printing specialist Industrial Inkjet (IIJ) has introduced a wider printing module, designed to meet the requirements of an ever-expanding and demanding range of applications for inkjet.
MonoPrint 775i can print up to 160m/min at 360dpi or 80m/min at 720dpi, and has initially been produced for an industrial packaging application. The flexible design has been developed to be capable of printing in up to four colours at a maximum print width of 845mm wide when using 360dpi KM1024i printheads, or 891mm when using 600dpi KM1800i printheads. IIJ noted this as making MonoPrint 775i ‘perfect’ for wider packaging applications such as cartons, foils or flexible films, as well as décor applications.
The design of the MonoPrint 775i inkjet printing module is also compatible with the new 450dpi KM1280i printheads, which would allow up to 849mm print width at expected speeds of 135m/min.
The first system will be installed next month, and IIJ is already working on packaging projects that require four-colour printing above 800mm wide. IIJ has plans to use the same scalable architecture to go even wider.
At drupa 2020 in June, IIJ will be present on the Konica Minolta stand, showcasing its new wide design print engines for a variety of applications.
