AB Graphic is to provide Digicon automation modules to deliver high-speed finishing in both near-line or inline configurations for the new HP Indigo V12 digital press.
V12 is a recently confirmed technology development project from HP Indigo, capable of running at 120m/min. It is the first HP Indigo Series 6 press to be announced, and will be commercially available in 2022.
The new AB Graphic Digicon Series 3 modules are being developed with a focus on automation, allowing for continuous production, whilst promoting quality and efficiency.
The integrated modules include:
- An auto die-cassette system, which can load up to 10 die plates thereby keeping efficiency high due to the automation of the die-loading. Reducing downtime and unnecessary manual intervention, this module also offers automatic pre-positioning of the die-cut, meaning no waste;
- A unique buffer system and 100% print inspection;
- Nonstop turret rewinding, incorporating market-leading tension control;
- Advanced JDF/JMF technology, with barcodes between jobs read with barcode scanners enabling automatic make-ready of new jobs with minimal human intervention; and
- Non-stop waste handling, with automatic waste matrix extraction and collection with minimal downtime.
AB Graphic director Matt Burton said, ‘A key to AB Graphic’s leadership in the print finishing market is our ongoing relationship with HP Indigo. With over 1000 installations worldwide, our Digicon series has changed the face of print finishing.
