Swedish pulp and paper manufacturer BillerudKorsnäs has launched Pure Performance, a new White Top Kraftliner, which the company says ‘combines high strength, excellent printability and purity in one material.’
Pure Performance offers packaging material reduction thanks to its three-ply construction. The company says that the top ply contains well distributed short white fibers optimised for excellent printability, the middle is used to create bulk in order to maximise stiffness and minimise washboarding, whilst the bottom has unbleached long fibres for highest strength.
All of BillerudKorsnäs’ liners are produced from 100% primary fibres, sourced from responsible forestry. This also enables Pure Performance to meet the toughest food contact standards and comply with demanding product and food safety regulations.
‘The three-ply construction of Pure Performance enables great opportunities to optimise liner strength and to go down one grammage step compared to traditional White top Kraftliner grades on the market,’ said Rolf Gustafsson, business segment director containerboard at BillerudKorsnäs. ‘The combination of this superior strength and qualitative printability makes Pure Performance a unique product that offers true sustainability savings and packaging material reduction.’
