Russia-based flexo print house Optiflex has installed an AB Graphic Digicon Series 3, the latest step in its move into digital printing.
Based in the city of Lipetsk outside Moscow, Optiflex initially established its digital offering in 2019 with the installation of a Konica Minolta AccurioLabel 190 press, alongside a Grafisk Maskinfabrik (GM) DC330Mini finishing line. Having gained experience working with digital technology, preparing digital layouts and extending its reach into the short-run market, the company created an opportunity to attract customers in new markets separate to their flexo interests.
This has seen it add an HP Indigo 6900 digital press, as well as the AB Graphic Digicon Series 3 finishing line. Both the HP Indigo digital press and AB Graphic Dicgon Series 3 were installed by Nissa Centre, in March and June 2020, respectively.
Optiflex’s Aleksey Golubykh said, ‘Optiflex is a young and dynamic company. We have been operating since 2012, expanding and updating our equipment almost every year. To further develop the digital side of the business, we spent some considerable time analysing our long-term print and finishing requirements, with AB Graphic’s Digicon 3 by far the best fit for our future needs.’
AB Graphic currently has more than 30 Digicon lines installed in Russia, with Matt Burton, AB Graphic global sales director, commenting, ‘The growing market in Russia is very exciting for AB Graphic, providing us with some real opportunities for us to expand our portfolio.
‘Clearly Optiflex has untapped a rich seam of business for its digital initiative and we look forward to seeing the result of their new purchase going forward.’
