ePac Flexible Packaging has named Jonathan Schmitt and Maciej Plamieniak as the men to lead its expansion into continental Europe.
ePac Holdings Europe is opening its first two sites on the continent, as it makes good on its promise to expand its footprint in Europe. The first two countries in Europe to establish digital-only production plants are France and Poland, where local partners will be leveraging ePac’s business model.
The manufacturing centre in France will be strategically located near Lyon, in the town of Bourgoin-Jallieu. Operations will be headed up by Jonathan Schmitt, who is the managing partner at ePac Lyon. The new ePac facility in Poland will be located in Wroclaw, where Maciej Plamieniak will take the reins.
Mr Schmitt is associate director of operations at Medialliance Graphic, a France-based packaging company, while Mr Plamieniak has spent the previous two decades at consumer household products manufacturer Cedo, most recently as chief operating officer. Previous roles have included group commercial director, head of supply chain in Eastern Europe, UK and China, as well as finance management Eastern Europe.
Johnny Hobeika, managing director at ePac Holdings Europe, said, ‘Despite the challenges that the COVID-19 pandemic has brought, this is an incredibly exciting time and I welcome the new additions to the ePac family. We have come so far in such a short time thanks to the dedication of all our people, and we are now ready to take the next step in our journey.’
