Lic Packaging of Italy has purchased a HP PageWide T1190 high-volume inkjet press, complementing its existing C500.
The company is a European manufacturer of consumer packaging and display products.
The multimillion-dollar investment makes Lic Packaging the first converter to own HP’s complete portfolio of presses for corrugated packaging and display applications, after taking the lead with HP PageWide C500 digital printing services in Europe. The six-color HP PageWide T1190, a 2.8m-wide system running at 305 linear m/min, will be installed at Lic’s northern Italy factory in the first half 2021. As the press digitally pre-prints corrugated liners, this will enable Lic Packaging to take full advantage of its on-site corrugator capabilities.
HP’s digital corrugated technology can be used for long-run production as well as customisation for seasonal, geographic and promotional versioning, meaning Lic Packaging will be able to offer enhanced flexibility with scaled packaging and display solutions for orders from several hundred boxes to millions with short lead times. Additionally, HP’s PageWide technologies enable Lic Packaging to offer an enhanced sustainability offering to its brand customers with digital on-demand technology, recyclability and water-based inks, with graphics printed on a variety of coated and uncoated substrates.
