Bobst and SEI Laser have joined forces to create a new business activity that will focus on accelerating the development of digital laser cutting options for labels and packaging applications.
The new activity will develop and commercialise, worldwide, digital laser cutting technologies for the labels, flexible packaging, folding carton and corrugated board industries.
As part of the development, Bobst is to acquire the part of SEI Laser related to packaging – around a third of the business –, which will be spun out as a separate entity of which Bobst will have majority ownership. Once all required approvals have been obtained, Bobst will provide further information on the new activity.
Bobst has also taken full control of its inkjet digital printing joint venture, Mouvent, after acquiring the remaining 49.9% shares in Radex.
