Print industry association BPIF – the British Printing Industries Federation – has laid out its key focuses for next year.
Looking ahead to 2021, BPIF CEO Charles Jarrold identified that the trade body will increase engagement through enhancing its focus on sector-specific interest groups. Alongside existing special interest groups, including labels, cartons, books and CDI, the BPIF will, for example, focus on environmental, technical, data and cybersecurity, amongst others.
BPIF will also be publishing its updated ‘Facts and Figures’ in 2021, outlining the the size, shape and strength of the UK print industry.
Mr Jarrold noted that Brexit will ‘inevitably’ continue to be at the heart of much of BPIF’s advice and activities in 2021. BPIF will also continue to develop its key HSE and HR services to ensure the support offered to members makes the most of the changes in communications and the business environment in what will hopefully be a post-Covid business world, and ensure BPIF’s expert advisors continue to develop their skills and expertise required in a very rapidly changing environment.
BPIF Training also continues to develop and strengthen, and despite the pandemic is said to have had ‘a good year’. Specifically, the apprenticeship training division is to develop, broaden and grow to continue to meet the sector’s needs.
‘So,’ said Mr Jarrold, ‘after a pretty tough year, we expect 2021 to be a year of adaption and growth; adaption to a post-Covid, post-Brexit world, and growth to make the most of the strength of our sector and the entrepreneurial energy with the companies that comprise it.’
BPIF vice president Ian Wilton has now been elected as its new president.
