Lion Labels has become the first US-based customer for Screen’s SAI inkjet digital label printing platform.
Lion Labels is a family-owned business providing label options for various industries including food and beverage, health and beauty, chemical and industrial, jewellery, nutraceuticals and more. Its operations include digital and flexo printing, which allow the company to accommodate both short- and long-run job requests. With the purchase of the UV inkjet label press through Screen Americas, Lion Labels is aiming to grow its business with quicker turnaround times.
The Screen Truepress Jet L350UV SAI press serves as a complement to Lion Labels’ existing technology, which included a toner-based digital press and conventional flexo presses.
‘Having more options in its portfolio will lead to the increased capacity that Lion Labels is looking for,’ commented Anton Kotesky, retail sales manager within Screen Americas’ packaging division. ‘It’s all about fitting the right job with the right press. Lion Labels will be able to increase its productivity by taking on additional jobs that the Truepress Jet L350UV SAI would be suitable for.’
The Truepress Jet L350UV SAI was introduced by Screen in 2019, and is now starting to gain traction in the market with installations on both sides of the Atlantic. This includes at Italy’s Grafiche Pradella, which has made a move into digital with the world’s first Screen SAI, and Links Labels & Tapes in the UK (see the January/February 2021 issue of Digital Labels & Packaging for more).
SAI series presses come in one of four varieties, ‘S’, ‘Z’, ‘E’ and ‘LM’. The entry-level ‘E’ and ‘LM’ for low migration applications are to receive a push into the market this year.
