Canada’s Impression Paragraph, one of the largest print companies serving the market in Quebec, has significantly expanded its digital printing capacity and folding carton application range with the addition of a HP Indigo 12000 digital press.

Installed at Paragraph’s headquarters in Montreal, the 29in-wide press is configured with the new HP Indigo 15K value pack, including thick substrate support up to 24pt and premium white ink. Such a configuration makes it the first of its kind in Eastern Canada.

A fifth ink station for white ink and brand spot colours further enhance the press’ output potential, whilst a Kompac coater has helped create a ‘unique’ production line for short-run folding cartons in Quebec, and to serve the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries. The press will work in tandem with Paragraph’s new folding carton subsidiary, Dumaine.

Paragraph president Martin Lépine said, ‘We will utilise thick substrates to deliver the high-quality, short-run folding carton and other creative applications that have fostered our reputation as a partner rather than a supplier to our customers.

‘We are eager to embrace the 20 x 29in (50 x 73cm) sheet size, white ink and thick substrate capability for our customers, who expect high quality and innovation.’

In addition, the acquisition of the HP Indigo 12000, which is capable of printing on recycled media and delivering low VOC emissions, supports Paragraph’s sustainability goals. Mr Lépine noted, ‘Paragraph is firmly committed to reducing its ecological footprint by being responsible in the management of its daily operations to minimize any negative impact.’
