OEM and print system provider DTM Print has launched the LX3000e colour label printer into the EMEA region, featuring the all-new Big Ink system to combine a low cost per label with speed and print quality.
Manufactured by Primera Technology, the printer is the latest edition to its LX series of full-colour desktop printers. Based on the LX910e, LX3000e features large, individual ink tanks and a reusable thermal inkjet printhead. Print quality is at a native resolution of 1200dpi with a maximum print resolution of 1200 x 4800dpi. Labels up to 210mm wide and 610mm long can be printed. Print speeds up to 114mm/s (4.5ips) can be achieved.
To further differentiate LX3000e from other Primera models, the all-new Big Ink system has been implemented to allow this new printer to deliver a very low cost per label, alongside the high speed and achievable print quality.

Each separate CMY tank holds 60ml of ink. Pre-primed, user-replaceable printheads have another 42ml of ink, for a total of 222ml ‘out of the box’ ink. Both dye and pigment models are available. Replacement ink tanks are easy to install without further priming for uninterrupted printing.
The Big Ink system on LX3000e uses the latest dye and pigment inks, which are optimised for brightness, durability and optical density. The latter is particularly high for LX3000e’s process black, resulting in the blackest black ever released by Primera in a CMY printer. Process black is cited as offering many advantages for labels over separate carbon black inks as used by other colour label printers, including better water resistance, compatibility with a broader range of speciality label media, and more resistance to smearing on high gloss media.
LX3000e is said to be suited for users that need to print up to 10,000 labels per day. Other users will find the very low operating costs to be ‘just as advantageous’, whilst the rugged, powder-coated steel cover and all-steel frame helps to protect the printer in most office, warehouse and factory environments.

LX3000e sells for €2895 (MSRP) and is available directly from DTM Print or through authorised DTM Print partners in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Shipping is set to start in late summer 2021.
