Inkjet digital printing specialist Domino, converting equipment manufacturer Rotocontrol, and inspection expert EyeC are to host a two-day open house in order to demonstrate the power of their collective technologies.

Specifically, the 24-25 November event at Rotocontrol’s facility in Siek, Germany, will give attendees the opportunity to see and inspect a hybrid printing configuration that couples Rotocontrol’s DT label finishing line with a seven-colour Domino N610i UV inkjet engine. EyeC’s ProofRunner Web inline inspection system will be showcased also.

Features of the highly modular hybrid printing platform include: multiple die-cutting stations; rotary flexo and flatbed screen printing units; UV inkjet digital printing in up to seven colours including opaque white, with 600dpi native print resolution; lamination, cold foiling and hot stamping; label inspection with 100% outgoing quality control; corona treatment; UV LED curing; and a small roll programmable auto turret winding machine. The N610i integration module featured as part of this hybrid line incorporates Domino’s i-Tech intelligent technology productivity features for enhanced flexibility and reliability.

Demonstrated on the system running during the open house will be various types of high-quality printed labels with quick job changeovers. Label printers wishing to attend are invited to send print files and material in advance for a live, in-person demonstration.

Ruud Bos, digital print OEM manger, Europe at Domino, commented, ‘This is a highly efficient method to print labels in one-pass, combining digital printing with embellishments and inline inspection. It is a single efficient process from white reel input, to outputting finished inspected labels, enabling the label converter to support short lead times, and also improve its environmental credentials through reducing material waste normally associated with multiple processes.’

Also on show at the open house will be two Ecoline RSI label finishing machines, which feature Domino’s K600i inkjet printer for barcode and QR code printing, and the EyeC ProofRunner Web and Quality Link system.
