ProPrint Group has installed a Digicon Series 3 automated finishing line from AB Graphic International. The Northamptonshire-based company says that the new equipment will provide its customers with an additional range of label finishing options and complement its state-of-the-art Screen digital press.
Installed toward the end of March, ProPrint’s new Digicon Series 3 will increase the company’s capacity for high-quality embellished labels. It offers a variety of different features including a flexo printing station, semi-rotary die-cutting, matrix waste stripping, 100% camera inspection, servo driven turret rewind and automatic slit knives. The modular system set-up means that ProPrint can tailor finishing units to suit specific customer requirements.
‘The Digicon 3 is modular, giving us the flexibility to tailor the machine to complement our existing infrastructure,’ explained ProPrint owner James Denny. ‘Therefore we can optimise efficiency and open up more capacity for the choice of finishes customers want in the short lead times we offer.’
AB Graphics provided training and testing onsite during the installation process and now ProPrint will be trialling a variety of print jobs for a range of sectors on the technology. It will also liaise with customer brands as well as in-house ProPrint artwork to ensure every element of the set-up is perfectly calibrated ready for print orders.
ProPrint Group provides self-adhesive labels, linerless labels and carton-board packaging using digital, flexographic and lithographic print. It installed its first digital press in 2016.
