It is with much sadness that Anglia Labels has announced the passing of company chairman and founder Rowland Grindell. He passed away on 27 April, 2022.
Mr Grindell established Anglia Labels in February 1980, specialising in plain labels and single-colour computer labels. As the company grew, he recognised the potential of digital print and in 1999 invested in one of the first reel-to reel HP Indigo digital presses in the UK.
Despite stepping down from the day-to-day operations at the company several years ago, he retained a keen interest in Anglia Labels affairs and was always ready to give advice and help when needed.
Over the years, Anglia Labels has transitioned from computer labels to high quality multi-colour labels, serving the car care, food, drink and chemical markets. With a turnover of £3 million and employing 20 staff, Anglia Labels Is today recognised as one of the leaders in digital print, ‘thanks to Rowland’s pioneering decisions over 23 years ago,’ according to current managing director Ian Woodhead.
‘Rowland was a good boss, colleague and friend and he will be very much missed.’
