Adam Woodhead, customer services manager at UK printer Anglia Labels, completed a 104-mile road race earlier this year, placing second after running the course in 22:25:00.
Covering the distance of four marathons, the race followed the five main rivers throughout Suffolk starting in Harwich at 8am on 14 May.
For Mr Woodhead, who only took up running two years ago, this was the first race he had entered, forgoing the usual 5k, 10k, 20k, 13-mile half marathon, and full marathon distance usually run by such novice athletes.
The day also happened to be the hottest day of the year so far, reaching 22 degrees C, making the road race, ‘some challenge’, according to Anglia Labels managing director Ian Woodhead, who is also Adam’s father.
‘We are all so proud of him. This was a massive achievement, and a well-deserved second place after months of hard work,’ said Mr Woodhead Snr. ‘I dread to think where and when his next race will be.’a
